Friendship Baptist Church

Our History

Around July 27, 1906, a group of local Baptists who had been meeting in a local country schoolhouse felt God’s call to form a Church. Several members holding membership letters from another Church wished to resolve themselves into a Baptist Church. They asked their Pastor to call a formal council comprised of other local ministers in the effort to begin a Baptist Church. The council was conveyed and Friendship Baptist Church was commissioned. By August 5, 1906, Friendship Baptist Church had thirty (30) charter members. Over 112 years later, Friendship continues to hold Adult Sunday School classes, welcome children of all ages into the Children's department and has a Sunday morning service at 11:00am.

Our Statement of Faith

We, the Church, believe the Holy Bible is the inspired word of God and is the basis of our statement of faith. This Church believes in one God, eternally existing in three Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. This Church believes in the Virgin Birth of Jesus Christ, and that He is truly God and man. This Church believes He died on the Cross for our sins, He rose bodily from the dead, and He ascended into Heaven where He sits at the right hand of the Father and is now our High Priest and Advocate. This Church bands ourselves together as a body of baptized believers in Jesus Christ personally committed to sharing the good news of salvation to lost mankind.
